The Aquentis water detection mini plate sensor probe has been designed for use in confined area’s such as under Washing machines, dish washers, Ice makers. In fact any type of equipment which may leak water can have a mini plate water detection probe fitted either inside or outside of it. The units are designed to work in the horizontal plane. Facing down it is used as a robust sensor where water is likely to pool such as in drip trays or non porous floors, and because of it’s size it is also usable within confined ceiling voids. Facing upwards the unique sloping face can be sited below valves or other probable sources of leaks to provide early warning. The sloping face allows the water to “drain off” quickly so that pooling doesn’t occur allowing the controlling equipment to reset as soon as is practical.
As standard the Mini Plate sensor is supplied without a end of line resistor allowing use with LDM leak detection modules, however end of line resistors can be fitted within a junction box where it is connected to the monitoring equipment or alternativly end of line resistors can be factory fitted, please enquire for details.
Mini plate sensor uses
This unit is primarily designed as a general purpose water detection sensor which doesn’t require fixing. The point sensors low profile affords it a high stability factor which means that it will not fall over in usual use. This stability allows it to be placed within drip trays and bunded area’s without fixing.
The use of a mini plate sensor probe allows monitoring for leaks in area’s where sensing cables would be difficult to install, either because of the harsh operating environment in which detection is required or the shear practicalities of installing lengths of sensing cables in vulnerable areas.
Detection height adjustment
The detectors come factory set to detect between 1.5 & 2mm depth of water at the detection face (when fitted facing down). However they can be set to approximately 0.9mm by removing the top section of the four insulating feet with a craft knife.
